Musah speaks on social media and Fondazione Milan: “Sport brings people together” | OneFootball

With the release of the new Off-White x AC Milan collection, Yunus Musah has spoken on several topics, such as his dreams to become a footballer and his aspirations to help people.

Today, Milan launched their new collection with the Milano-made fashion brand Off-White. In the collection there are multiple pieces which aim to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the club, featuring key branding from both brands.

Speaking at the launch of the collection, Musah spoke about several things including what it means to play for Milan, the cultures at the club, and how footballers can do more off the pitch to help, and his words have been relayed by Milan Press.

“I started from a young age and I always wanted to become a professional footballer. I’ve always looked at great players and great clubs like Milan, and playing for this great team makes me so happy.

“How can we help? I have lived in many places and I have lived many cultures. Sport brings people together, during covid for example by training I met many people from all over the world. We must therefore try to bring young people to the fields to make them interact with many worlds.

“We must push young people to do these things so that they will become more appreciated. I miss the days when I used to play with my friends at the park, but today I have my friends.

“We are in 2024 and in football there have been many changes, even positive ones. For example, there are many players from different continents and countries, we all find ourselves very well.

“It gives us the opportunity to learn from different worlds, learning from other people of different cultures and languages is beautiful, for example we speak five languages. There was a big change, many teams even in Italy are multicultural.

How do you live with social media?

“It’s a great topic to talk about, we have a big responsibility: we have to be examples for the new generation. We have the power to change something in the world, we have a big platform to do good things. There is a good side and a bad side and this is one of the good ones.”

Social causes to talk about?

“I like to help when I can, I help outside the cameras. I would like to work with the club, which already does it with Fondazione Milan. When you have the economic and physical possibilities you have to help.”

Musah is believed to be one of the next big things at Milan, and the club have gambled on his future after receiving several bids for him during the summer but opting to keep him at the club. Originally a winger, the American has been brought central in recent times, and the club see a bright future ahead of him.
