Yunus Musah has revealed what it was like translating for Christian Pulisic when the pair both arrived at AC Milan in the summer of 2023.

Musah and Pulisic both took part in a CBS interview (via Radio Rossonera) where the former explained what the dynamic was like on arrival in Italy, given he could already speak Italian but Pulisic could not.

Musah and Pulisic are both American but Musah holds Italian citizenship, which was one of the driving factors behind Milan signing him.

Knowing each other from the national team setup, Musah and Pulisic were sticking together in the early weeks and Pulisic would have had a much harder time settling in if he did not have Musah to guide him.

They were asked about the music and the general atmosphere in the changing room and Musah explained that nobody controls the music, but there are ‘fantastic vibes’ with the mix of people.

“No, actually none of us have a bluetooth speaker in the dressing room. But the vibes are fantastic. We have so many different personalities, everyone gets along. Even the new guys who have arrived. There’s a great atmosphere, even the coach has noticed,” Musah said.

Musah then talked about how Pulisic has done well to learn the language and he does not need to translate everything for the former Chelsea winger.

“He is actually speaking it a lot lately. Although they may speak to him in English, he answers in Italian. He has learned a lot and in fact the coaches have started speaking to him in Italian. Even though he spent a lot of time in America he obviously hasn’t forgotten the language. Now I am not even translating anything for him, nothing!” Musah said.
