Yunus Musah is starting on the right flank for AC Milan in the big clash against Juventus, completing a more defensive-minded XI. Ahead of the game, he spoke to the media and explained his role.

Samuel Chukwueze and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were both expected to start in tonight’s game, with Christian Pulisic not 100%, but instead only the Englishman is starting. On the right, surprisingly, we will see Yunus Musah from the first minute.

Speaking to DAZN ahead of the game, as cited by MilanNews, Musah shared his thoughts on the starting spot and what his role will be this evening. He admitted that he will be helping Emerson Royal out against Kenan Yildiz a lot.

Are you ready?

“Yes, I’m very excited, a beautiful match to play. It’s easy to get motivated for a match like this. Everyone wants to play big matches, I’m happy.”

On the clash between Americans…

“We just played together and now we have to fight: it will be very beautiful”

On his position on the pitch…

“I always try to help out in defence, you’ll often see me there to help Emerson: if Cambiaso goes high, I’ll have to follow him. If he stays behind I can go high too.”

Musah also played in a similar role against Real Madrid and that worked out very well. Having said that, Fonseca was asked exactly this during yesterday’s presser and basically shut down the idea, so maybe he was just tricking the media.
