Celtic are thrilled to announce the signing of forward Murphy Agnew, who joins on a two-year deal.
The 24-year-old becomes Fran Alonso’s sixth signing of the summer, as the Celts gear up for the beginning of the new campaign.
Agnew arrives in Glasgow after a spell playing in Australia with Newcastle Jets, where she spent last season.
She made an instant impact there, racking up three goal contributions in her opening two games for the club, and will be aiming to make a similar impact with the Hoops.
The American has played in her homeland, coming through the college system at Harvard University, where she studied environmental engineering.
During her time there, Agnew was also identified as a Discovery Player by National Women’s Soccer League side OL Reign, and spent time training with the club.
In 2022, she made her first move to Europe, heading to Iceland and turning out for Thróttur Reykjavík.
Ahead of the competitive action getting underway later this evening, Agnew will soon join up with her new team-mates and continue preparations for the season ahead.
Welcome to Celtic Murphy!
