With AC Milan heading into a summer of change, there could be some massive departures, and the headline would be, without a doubt, Rafael Leao.

The Portuguese’s future is always heavily speculated over, and this summer, it seems likely that he will be a hot topic of conversation, once again. In the last two mercatos, there have been whispers about the future, and so the confidence in him staying is certainly lowered.

Before the January mercato, there were suggestions that the winger had asked his entourage to find him a move, and this morning’s reports state that Jorge Mendes is open to taking him elsewhere.

If this were to happen, the big player in the picture would be Barcelona, who have held an extended interest in the 25-year-old, despite their own financial struggles.

Despite this though, the club are persistent in their interest, and Leao remains ‘heavily appreciated’ by the club’s directors. As Mundo reports, Jorge Mendes ‘always talks’ about the star, and his infatuation with a move to Barca is clear for all to see.

In terms of staying, Massimiliano Allegri and Antonio Conte would both look to build around the Portuguese if he were to remain, and there will not be a departure until the assessments of the new head coach. However, it still could not be ruled out.
