Several Championship sides are currently looking to take Sepp van den Berg on loan next season from Liverpool, with the player currently at Preston North End.

The Reds have seen a lot of changes defensively this year with the three senior options all hit by big injuries and the likes of Nat Phillips and Ozan Kabak being promoted or signed on loan to help out.

Sepp van den Berg may have felt he would get a chance to be involved, too, but instead he’s headed out on loan to Preston North End for the second part of the season – as part of the deal involving Ben Davies – where he appears to have done a good job.

Indeed, according to The Athletic, several Championship sides are now interested in bringing him in next season on loan with one of them currently challenging for promotion to the Premier League.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

The young defender really does appear to have benefitted from his time in the Championship and it would make sense for him to have another loan next season in the second tier at least to keep progressing.

Teams are keen on helping him, too, so let’s see where he might end up.
