Eredivisie giants Ajax retained their place at the top of the table on Sunday after beating Heracles 5-0 in Amsterdam.

However, along with the victory, Erik ten Hag’s side suffered multiple injuries leaving a few concerns ahead of their Champions League fixture against FC Midtjylland.

Davy Klaassen and Noussair Mazraoui both left the pitch in the first half and the club is awaiting an answer regarding the severity.

“You can’t say anything about it for the first 24 hours,” said Ten Hag. “Then you can’t draw any conclusions from it. So we shouldn’t do that either.”

With the score at 4-0, Dusan Tadic, Daley Blind and Lassina Traoré were all substituted but this was simply precautionary.

Zakaria Labyad also left the pitch after feeling some discomfort and the team finished the match with 10-men.

“I had some problems with my knee at the end. It felt different than when I injured my knee last year,” said Labyad. “It hurt so much that I could not continue.”

“You immediately think back to the time of last year, when I was out for a long time … I made the choice to leave and not to run any further risk.”

Ajax will host FC Midtjylland for their European clash on 25 November.
