It was around this time last year when rumours of Mykhailo Mudryk to Arsenal started going into overdrive.
That transfer saga ended unexpectedly in January, when Chelsea snatched the Ukrainian from under the Gunners’ noses in a sensational £88.5m move.
But Mudryk failed to live up to the hype in his early months at Stamford Bridge, scoring just one goal in his first 25 appearances for the club.
On Saturday, the 22-year-old lined up for Chelsea against the club he almost joined last January, and showed with a stunning goal early in the second half just what Arsenal might have got if they had signed him.
From the left flank he spotted goalkeeper David Raya off his line, and he found the net with a sensational finish to give his side a 2-0 lead.
The haters will say it was a mis-hit cross, but Mudryk will say he meant it, and who are we to disbelieve him?
