On Monday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) released their 16-man shortlist for their 2019 African Youth Player of the Year award.

After a fantastic 11-goal, six-assist season Standard Liège, the Mali international earned himself a £14m move to St. Mary’s.

So far with the Saints, Djenepo has scored twice, though injury problems have limited him to just seven appearances.

The 21-year-old should be in contention to start this weekend when Southampton host fellow srtugglers Watford.
