Incoming Roma coach Jose Mourinho has plans to raid the Premier League for a new midfield enforcer.
The former Tottenham manager will take charge of AS Roma at the end of the season, succeeding fellow Portuguese Paulo Fonseca as head coach. It marks a return to Italy for Mourinho, who left Inter Milan in 2010 after delivering the Nerazzurri a historic Treble.
Mourinho wants to add steel to Roma's midfield for next season.
And Gazzetta dello Sport via TMW says he intends to return to England to find the right addition.
Top of his shopping list is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who he signed for Tottenham from Southampton last summer.
Mourinho also has Manchester United veteran Nemanja Matic on his radar, having worked with the Serb at both United and Chelsea.
On Sunday, Roma thumped Crotone 5-0 to move into seventh place on the Serie A table. The realistic possibility is Mourinho will take charge of the Giallorossi without European football next season.
