Jose Mourinho singled out two performances in Roma’s win over Sheriff Tiraspol.

Following last night’s 2-1 victory in Moldova, Mourinho praised Edoardo Bove and Romelu Lukaku for their impact on the match, helping the Giallorossi overcome Sheriff’s equalizer in the second half.

“Bove is a starter like everyone else. They are all starters, good options in their own right,” Mourinho told Sky Sport.

“Bove is reliable, we know what he can do. Two years ago he was a kid who was on his way to Serie C, now he is a player who has this potential that makes you ask the question if he should be a regular starter for us. He is a wonderful lad.”

“Lukaku? With that physique, he has to play, he needs coordination and this comes through playing. I had thought about replacing him earlier in the second half, but with four changes made I was afraid that something might happen and we decided to leave the Lukaku-Belotti change for the last ten minutes. It’s good for him to play.”
