MIAMI – The 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup kicks off on Tuesday, as the ten best clubs play to be crowned champions in early December.

Four matches are on tap as the tournament begins its latest edition. Mount Pleasant FA and Cavalier FC will play in the first match of the campaign, while two encounters headline Thursday’s slate to close the first week.

Mount Pleasant FA vs. Cavalier FC

Mount Pleasant FA hosts Cavalier FC on Tuesday at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. The two Jamaican clubs meet for the first time in the Caribbean Cup.

Mount Pleasant will debut in a Concacaf international club competition. Based in the Saint Ann Parish, Mount Pleasant qualified by finishing as the 2023–24 Jamaica Premier League runners-up.

Cavalier FC returns for a third participation and qualified as the Jamaica Premier League champions. The Kingston-based club was the runner-up in the 2023 edition, defeating Harbour View FC 5-nil on aggregate in the semifinals, the club’s only other encounter against a Jamaican club in the Caribbean Cup.

Since the 2018/19 season, Mount Pleasant and Cavalier have faced each other 18 times

in the Jamaica Premier League. Cavalier FC secured six wins to Mount Pleasant’s four, and the two tied eight times.

The match will be a rematch of the 2023/24 Jamaican Premier League Final, which Cavalier won 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time. Devonte Campbell and Richard King scored the goals on that occasion.

Cibao FC vs. Moca FC

Cibao FC and Moca FC will face off on Wednesday at the Estadio Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. For the first time, the young classic of Dominican football will be played in the Caribbean Cup.

Cibao FC is the Dominican club with the most matches played in tournament history, with 16 (7W-7D-2L). Against Dominican clubs, they are undefeated in two, with a 1-0 victory against Atlético Vega Real in 2022 and a 1-1 draw against Atlético Pantoja in 2023.

For Moca FC, it will be the first time they face a rival from the same country in the tournament's history. The last official match between both clubs was in domestic league play on May 11, 2024, ending in a nil-nil draw.

From 2015 to the present, they faced each other 29 times. Cibao FC won 13 times, losing four and drawing 12 in that stretch.

Ouanaminthe FC vs. AC Port of Spain

Ouanaminthe FC meets AC Port of Spain on Thursday at the Estadio Moca 85 in Moca, Dominican Republic.

Ouanaminthe FC will debut in a Concacaf club tournament. The club qualified as the winner of Group B in the 2023/24 Haitian League.

AC Port of Spain from Trinidad and Tobago will participate in the Caribbean Cup for the second consecutive year after playing four matches in the 2023 edition. The club secured its return appearance by winning the 2023/24 Trinidad and Tobago Premier League.

Real Hope FA vs. Miscellaneous Police FC

Real Hope FA welcomes Miscellaneous Police FC on Thursday at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.

Real Hope FA from Haiti will play for the third time in the tournament, searching to advance past the group stage for the first time. The Jamaican club has only once faced a Trinidad and Tobago opponent, W Connection, on January 31, 2018, in its Caribbean Cup debut.

Police FC will debut in official club tournaments and will be the ninth Trinidadian club to participate in the Caribbean Cup. The club qualified as the 2023/24 Trinidad and Tobago Premier League season runner-up.
