Chelsea faced off against West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier today as they hoped to collect all three points in the London derby. The Blues made a good start to the contest and took the lead in the 28th minute courtesy of Thiago Silva’s header from close range. However, the Hammers equalised in the 40th minute via Manuel Lanzini’s penalty. Just two minutes later, Thomas Tuchel’s men regained their lead when Mason Mount found the back of the net with an excellent volley which meant that Chelsea went into the half-time break 2-1 up on the scoreline.

Jarrod Bowen found the leveler for the Hammers in the 56th minute when he scored with a powerful finish. Arthur Masuaku scored a spectacular winner in the 87th minute as West Ham ended up winning the derby by a 3-2 scoreline.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the match against the Hammers.

GK: Edouard Mendy – 4.5/10

The Blues keeper won’t be happy after shipping in three goals during the game. He could have done better to prevent Masuaku’s goal.

CB: Andreas Christensen – 6/10

The Danish centre-half made some crucial interceptions at the back but couldn’t stop the home team from scoring three goals during the 90 minutes.

CB: Thiago Silva – 7.5/10

Silva managed to keep things solid at the back for most of the game and scored the opener with an accurate header in the 28th minute.

CB: Antonio Rudiger – 6/10

Rudiger was sometimes too soft when defending inside his half. However, he made two good chances going forward.

The English talent was quite lively in the West Ham half but could have done better to offer more defensive protection at the back.

He gave a good account of himself in the final third. However, he should have kept a better shape in midfield to stop some of the West Ham counter-attacks.

The Italian failed to provide enough cover for his teammates on the defensive end of the field. However, he was good on the ball.
