Croatiaâs wait for a Euro 2020 win went on as they were held by the Czech Republic at Hampden Park on Friday but there were reasons to be encouraged.
Our Man of the Match is âŠ
Few players stood out during Croatiaâs 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic but JoĆĄko Gvardiol was one of the few who didnât put a foot wrong all game.
More of a natural at the heart of the defence, the 19-year-old defender was strong and sturdy at left-back.
It was an impressive display from a young man who struggled to get to grips with England and Phil Foden just a few days earlier.
Up at Hampden Park little came down his side, despite the attempts of the always adventurous West Ham right-back VladimĂr Coufal.
And Gvardiol gave Coufal plenty to think about going in the other direction too.
The Leipzig man spent last season on loan with Dinamo Zagreb but looks more than ready for a move to the Bundesliga on this showing.
