After receiving plenty of criticism for their stalemate with USA, England turned on the style in the second half against Wales, topping the group with a 3-0 win.
And our Man of the Match is …
England may have struggled to break Wales down in the opening 45 minutes, but right from minute one you could see that Marcus Rashford was in the mood to score.
A spectacular overhead kick bounced just wide of the target in the early stages of the game, and just five minutes into the second half his superb free-kick made the breakthrough.
Not only that, but his pressing straight after the goal won the ball back from Wales, starting the move that allowed Phil Foden to net England’s second just one minute later.
Rashford has admitted that he’s recently come through a period of struggle on and off the pitch, and boy can you tell that he’s now back to firing on all cylinders.
His second goal marked England’s 100th at a World Cup, and his starring role surely means that he has secured a starting place in Gareth Southgate’s lineup for the knockout stages.
Now on three goals in three games, Rashford is tied with Cody Gakpo of Netherlands as the current World Cup top scorer.
Here is a top player in top form, and it seems like there is no limit to what he can achieve in this England side.
