Most Premier League assists of all time as Salah enters top 10

Mohamed Salah continues to cement his all-time great status in the Premier League this season.

Salah scored one and created two more as Liverpool won 5-0 at West Ham on Sunday afternoon. It continued a remarkable campaign from the 32-year-old, who sits comfortably clear as the Premier League’s leading goalscorer and assist provider this season.

The Egyptian extended his record to 13 assists for the campaign at the London Stadium, and swelled his Premier League career total to 82. He’s now moved past former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham to enter the top 10 players for Premier League assists.

Next in his sights are two ex-Liverpool midfielders with James Milner (89) and Steven Gerrard (92) placed ninth and eighth respectively. On current form, few would bet against Salah overtaking the pair before the end of the season. He is one of three active players inside the top 10.

Salah is also edging closer to the single-season Premier League assist record. He has 20 games remaining to get the eight assists required to break the current record of 20, held jointly by Arsenal’s Thierry Henry (2002/03) and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (2019/20).

Having also hit 17 goals so far this season, Salah could become just the third player to record 20+ goals and 20+ assists in a top-five European league this century. Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi are the only players to have previously achieved the feat.
