Hakimi has been enduring a difficult couple of months at PSG.

The Moroccan received red cards in two of his last five matches for the Parisians – against Lorient and then Ajaccio.

Whilst coming off the pitch for the latter red card, the 24-year-old was caught by the camera saying sarcastically that “This is France.”

According to the Gazzetta, Hakimi wants an exit from the Parc des Princes. The newspaper report that he is in fact keen to make a return to Inter.

However, there are two major obstacles to Hakimi potentially leaving PSG.

The first would be the fact that the Moroccan is still under contract with the French champions until the end of June 2026.

The second concerns Hakimi’s wages. The former Nerazzurri man currently earns a total of €10 million net per season, and would have to find a club ready to pay this amoung.

PSG Signed Achraf Hakimi From Inter Milan In 2021

Hakimi joined PSG from Inter in the summer of 2021 in a massive money. The Nerazzurri had been essentially forced to sell the Moroccan due to financial constraints.

Hakimi’s time at Inter may have only lasted twelve months, but it was certainly not uneventful.

The wingback played a key role in the Nerazzurri winning the Serie A title during the 2020-21 season.

Hakimi made a total of 45 appearances for Inter across all competitions, scoring seven goals in the process.

The Moroccan had joined Inter from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021. This had come after he had impressed in two seasons out on loan with Borussia Dortmund.
