While Jude Bellingham’s heroics in his debut season have often taken center stage, Real Madrid’s dominant campaign owes much to several key individuals.

One of the players to have frequently chimed in with solid displays is Brahim Diaz, who rejoined Real Madrid last summer after spending three seasons on loan at AC Milan.

Despite not being a regular in the starting XI, Diaz has racked up 12 goal contributions this season, with his talents capturing the attention of both the Spanish and Moroccan national teams.

Reports have recently shed light on the player’s dual nationality and how Spain and Morocco attempted to convince him to don their respective national colors.

Now, it seems an official declaration may be near ahead of the international break in March.

Brahim in Morocco’s pre-list

Just two days ago, it was reported that Spain had included the attacking midfielder in their national team’s pre-list for this month’s international break.

Now, as per Jose Felix Diaz (h/t Madrid Zone) Morocco have also followed suit. The national team has sent Real Madrid the documents to notify Brahim that he is on their pre-list for the March matches.

Having scored for the Spanish national team on his debut, Diaz has yet to feature for La Roja, which is indicative of the immense competition he will continue to face if he opts to play for Spain.

Even though he has been holding out for a call-up from Spain, Brahim is not closing the doors on Morocco and is working towards completing the paperwork for dual citizenship, which is close.

But time will tell where his ultimate destination lies as the 24-year-old now has the last say in the matter.
