AC Milan have held new talks over a deal for Lazar Samardzic and Udinese have been informed of the player’s desire to move, according to a report.

Milan certainly have no shortage of players who can play as box-to-box midfielders or even a bit further forward with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders, Yacine Adli, Yunus Musah, Ismael Bennacer and Tommaso Pobega all still in the squad.

However, over the past couple of weeks there have been reports from various sources about a reignited interest in Samardzic, a player that Geoffrey Moncada wanted to bring to the Rossoneri when he was playing for Hertha Berlin.

According to what Matteo Moretto of Relevo said live on Playback with Fabrizio Romano (via OnlyMilan), Milan held new contacts with Samardzic’s entourage in the last few hours.

The player’s agents spoke with Udinese to let them know that their client’s desire is to go to Milan this summer. However, the Friulians are continuing to ask for €20m as a fixed sum plus bonuses in order to let him leave.

The Serbia international racked up six goals and two assists in 34 appearances last season and he was close to joining both Inter and Napoli in the past, but both fell through.
