Fabio Paratici was seemingly all set to become AC Milan’s new sporting director, but it seems things were never as advanced, according to a journalist.
Things, in the past few days, have been rather hectic concerning the head coach and sporting director. Vincenzo Italiano has now been welcomed onto the shortlist, with reports suggesting there may be an opportunity this summer.
Then, with Fabio Paratici, Milan have gone from being a step away from completing the deal, to now not doing the deal at all, as reports this morning state that things quickly became cold in negotiations.
So, the search continues, and this afternoon, Matteo Moretto has shared some information about the situation when speaking to Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, via Milan News.
“It was rumoured that Paratici would become Milan’s new head coach and that all that was missing was the official announcement. However, this is not the case, it was not done or closed. The parties were not even one step away from closure.
“New contacts are expected. Paratici has a very delicate personal legal situation. Milan obviously knew this. I know that Milan will continue their talks to choose a new sporting director. The Paratici issue is not as it was reported.
“Milan want to find the right profile to insert in the organisational chart that will not change, in the sense that Moncada has a contract until 2026 and will remain at Milan, just as Furlani will continue to be the adman.
“From the choice of the DS, then all the other choices will start, first and foremost that of the coach.”
It will be interesting to see how the Rossoneri move forward in the next few weeks, especially with suggestions that a new sporting director would arrive at the end of this month.
