Moretto: Bologna ‘sounding out’ move for Calabria ahead of mercato ‘finale’ | OneFootball

AC Milan have looked to strengthen the defence during this mercato, but they could weaken it if they allow Davide Calabria to depart, and a report suggests they may do this.

With the injury to Matteo Gabbia, there are probably going to be concerns about the defensive numbers among the Milan ranks, if there were not already. In central defence, there have been semi-consistent injuries, and currently, the partnership is effectively picking itself due to the medical room.

Elsewhere, the problem remains. On the left, Theo still lacks a ‘proper’ deputy, so there are makeshift options there, whilst at right-back there is Kyle Walker, who just joined the club, Emerson Royal, who is injured, and finally, Calabria.

With the Brazilian injured, parting with another right-back only leaves the club with one option, which is quite unwise to do. However, it could occur, as Matteo Moretto states that Bologna are ‘sounding out’ a move for the defender.

There is no information about whether there has been any positive feedback yet, but with the injury to Emerson, you’d imagine that the answer would be no unless there is a deeper problem.

It is shaping up to be an interesting few days at the end of the window, especially with Alvaro Morata potentially leaving the club.
