Aston Villa will clash heads with Manchester United at Old Trafford this Tuesday night as they try to secure a victory on their travels in the Premier League. The Villans were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Sheffield United recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways in midweek.

Unai Emery will opt for the 4-4-1-1 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first XI for this game. Alex Moreno and Diego Carlo could both get a chance to impress from the start of this contest at the Theatre of Dreams.

Defence

Emiliano Martinez will operate in goal for the Villans after conceding one goal in his last league outing. Diego Carlos will play alongside Clement Lenglet at the centre of Emery’s defence as they focus on keeping the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.

Ezri Konsa will fill in as the right-back while Alex Moreno hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the Man United half.

Calum Chambers will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

John McGin and Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield for Aston Villa as they try to win the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park. Jacob Ramsey will try to give a good account of himself on the left flank while Leon Bailey hopes to put his pace to good use as the right-sided wide player.

Moussa Diaby will operate in the number ten position as he looks to create some inviting chances in the attacking end of the pitch.

Nicolo Zaniolo will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half.

Attack

Ollie Watkins will spearhead Emery’s attack in the final third. The English striker would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet this Tuesday night after failing to do so versus the Blades.

Jhon Duran will have to be content with a place on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to shine in the latter stages of the game if needed.
