Alfredo Morelos added a late insurance goal on his return from injury as Rangers saw off Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Scorers: Čolak 51′, Morelos 87′
Rangers came closest to breaking the deadlock in a goal-less opening half when Tom Lawrence tried his luck with a volley from range, only to be denied by the crossbar.
Six minutes after half-time, they did get their goal when Antonio Čolak played a quick give-and-go on the edge of the area before drilling into the bottom corner to open the scoring in clinical fashion.
Only a fine last ditch tackle from Joe Wright prevented Alfredo Morelos from adding a second but he wouldn’t be denied for long as the striker soon marked his return from a long injury lay-off by turning in at the back post to make sure of the points.
It sees the Gers make it two wins from two to start their domestic season and bounce back from midweek disappointment in the Champions League.
