Nuno Espirito Santo wants Harry Kane to kick on after ending Tottenham Hotspur goal drought

Speaking in an interview via Football.london (h/t Mirror), Nuno Espirito Santo has urged Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane to keep improving after ending his goal drought. The gaffer was all praise for the striker and encouraged him to keep improving after his goal against Wolves.

It was one rollercoaster of a game as Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane put Spurs up by two in quick time. Wolves made sure they were not going down without a fix as Leander Dendoncker and Daniel Podence restored parity and forced the game into penalties. Spurs would score three out of four while Wolves’ three misses meant that the visitors were heading to the next round.

The game had a lot of subplots and one of them was Harry Kane’s dry spell in front of goal. The striker had not scored in the last four games and questions were starting to be asked about his form. The England striker shushed some of his critics with a well-taken goal and even converted his penalty later on. It capped off perhaps his best performance of the season.

With Kane breaking his duck in front of goal, Nuno was rather pleased. He wanted the forward to kick on from this performance and keep improving.

“Until we can balance everything, I think that will be the moment the players improve and get better. Harry did a very good game. I think he has much more to give and it’s about the team improving and growing together.”

Nuno hoped Kane would keep improving

The goal will no doubt restore some confidence to the striker who has had a tough summer and an equally tough return to the side. His goal was well taken and it showed that Kane was just suffering a mini-slump. Kane will be raring to go against Arsenal and score his first league goal of the season.
