More details are emerging on the deal that Roma have struck with Girona for striker Artem Dovbyk, which will cost a maximum of €38.5m, with a clue on his shirt number.
The final meeting was held this evening on Spanish soil, just hours after Dovbyk started the last match of his Girona career, a pre-season friendly.
Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio is now providing more details on precisely how much the Giallorossi are going to pay for the centre-forward.
It is set to be €30.5m plus €5.5m in add-ons for a total €36m.
There is also a 10 per cent cut of the future transfer fee, but there is a limit set on that beyond €30.5m so that the maximum total payment cannot go beyond €38.5m.
The Ukraine international is expected to fly in to Rome with director of sport Florent Ghisolfi on Thursday afternoon, so he can then undergo the medical and sign the contract.
Dovbyk was top scorer in LaLiga last season with 24 goals and celebrated his 27th birthday last month.
Girona have made a huge profit, having signed him from SK Dnipro in August 2023 for €7.75m.
His agent Alex Liundovskyi was also reported to have posted an image of the Roma No 9 jersey with Artem on the back, showing it off on Instagram Stories, but it was either removed or a fake.
If he did, it would be a snub considering Tammy Abraham currently has the No 9.
