The breakthrough of Dusan Vlahovic at Fiorentina this season has headlined Serie A charts as the Serbian look set to finish the season as the highest scorer. With 17 goals to his name, he sits third to only Robert Lewandowski and Patrik Schick and on level with Karim Benzema.
Vlahovic was touted for a bumper summer move with several clubs interested in acquiring his services, including Arsenal. The Gunners were, reportedly, ready to shell out €70 million in transfer fees in June but have been crushed by Juventus, who have, according to Fabrizio Romano, agreed on a €75 million winter move for the striker.
While it’s all frowns in North London, Barcelona are set to be handed a major boost with this deal since acquiring Alvaro Morata from Juventus becomes easier. In fact, according to El Desmarque, the Spaniard was spotted in a hotel in Madrid along with his agents, as his move to Barça edges closer.
Morata has not hit the ground running with the Bianconeri this season but is Xavi’s biggest request for the winter. With finishing problems evident, the manager thinks the former Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid striker could be their short-term solution.
While Morata is in their foresight, Joan Laporta and co. have not forgotten about Erling Haaland, who is undoubtedly their first-choice target for the summer. An interesting few months ahead for the Camp Nou faithful.
