Monza head coach Giovanni Stroppa is pleased with the arrival of defender Andrea Ranocchia, and possibly also midfielder Stefano Sensi, from Inter this summer.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach gave his thoughts on an ambitious summer transfer window which has already seen the newly-promoted team sign one player from Inter and more potentially on the way.
Ranocchia has already made his switch to Monza official, with the 34-year-old leaving Inter on a permanent basis after twelve years as a Nerazzurri player.
The experienced defender will help the Lombard team cope with life in the top flight, while further signings are anticipated, with Sensi one of the players they are most strongly linked with to add quality and Serie A experience to their ranks.
Stroppa is happy to see players of this calibre come into the team, and feels that his club are working hard in the transfer market to give him a squad that has the kinds of players he wants.
Regarding the incoming signings of Ranocchia and goalkeeper Alessio Cragno, as well as the negotiations for Sensi, the coach said that “We’re doing everything to build a squad that suits my footballing ideas and can achieve our goals for the season.”
