Maldini has emerged as a possible transfer target for Inter in recent weeks.

On the one hand, it’s an idea that would certainly raise some eyebrows.

That is because of the strong family connections between Maldini and Inter’s city rivals AC Milan.

The 23-year-old is the son of legendary former Milan captain Paolo Maldini. He is the third generation of his family to play for the Rossoneri.

But on the other hand, moves between Inter and Milan are hardly unheard of.

Moreover, on the pitch the move could very well make sense. Maldini is certainly a profile of player who offers something other than what the other forwards in Inter’s squad do.

Maldini’s form early in the season for Monza has certainly earned him some attention.

And it has not just been from the Nerazzurri. Reportedly, Juventus have also been keeping tabs on Maldini, as he has also earned his first senior call-up for Italy.

Monza CEO Galliani Plays Down Transfer Links Around Daniel Maldini: “No One Has Asked About Him:

Monza CEO Galliani has put the brakes on some of the transfer rumours around Maldini, however.

The Brianzoli executive talked about Maldini’s start to the season.

“Technically and physically, he has everything,” Galliani said of Maldini.

“He just needs to find a bit more of a cutting edge.”

“I pushed to sign him, and he had a strong desire to return to Monza,” Galliani said of the former Milan man’s permanent move to the U-Power Stadium during the summer.

“There were also two other clubs that had been eyeing him up.”

And as far as Maldini’s future, Gallini insisted that it’s “At Monza.”

“No clubs have asked about him,” said the Brianzoli CEO.
