Montpellier find replacement for Burnley-bound Maxime Estève | OneFootball

According to L’Équipe, Montpellier HSC have reached an agreement to sign Utrecht centre-back Modibo Sagnan (24), who will replace the outgoing Maxime Estève (21).

Estève’s move to Premier League side Burnley is set to be completed imminently. According to Foot Mercato, the Frenchman is on his way to Manchester on Wednesday in order to undergo his medical and complete the move to the relegation-threatened Premier League side.

Montpellier will receive €12m in the deal, and Le Héraults have wasted no time in using some of those funds to secure a replacement. An agreement has been reached to sign Utrecht’s Sagnan. The Frenchman, whose contract with the Dutch club runs until 2026, has been competing in the Eredivisie since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022.

The deal that will take Sagnan to Montpellier is worth around €3m, according to L’Équipe. Montpellier are also considering a move for Rodez’s Serge-Philippe Raux Yao.
