Juventus Women have the opportunity to raise the Italian Super Cup for a third consecutive season when they face Milan tomorrow at the Benito Stirpe Stadium in Frosinone, with kick-off scheduled for 14h30 CET. Coach Joe Montemurro set the scene ahead of the showcase final.

FINAL PREPARATION

“We are here to put on our best performance. It’s been a tough couple of days but we’ve improved since we first arrived here in Frosinone. We’ve been working hard, preparing as best we can for this match. The semi-final win over Sassuolo has given us a boost of enthusiasm precisely because it wasn’t the best match we’ve played this season. This group just doesn’t give up.

“We have players coming back. We need to be intelligent on how much we ask of them. On the playing side, Valentina Cernoia is ready to return. Agnese Bonfantini will join the group tomorrow. Although she won’t be able to play, it will be important to have her with us.”

HISTORY LESSON

“I’ve spoken with the girls about the Super Cup finals that they have already faced. It’s a bonus to have an experienced squad of players that already knows the importance of matches like tomorrow’s.”

OPPOSITE NUMBER

“It’s an honour to face a legend like Maurizio Ganz, who is doing a great job as coach of Milan. His influence can be seen in their growth. When Milan came to Turin we saw a well-organised side, which we also saw in their Super Cup semi-final. We have to be alert, get our approach to the game right and give it our best.”

THE SETTING

“I am impressed with the stadium here at Frosinone. It would be great to play at grounds like this more often. I would like to thank everyone connected with the club for their hospitality.”

THE FUTURE

“Women’s football in Italy is ready to turn professional. Serie A is already a valid championship and professionalism would give it a further boost because it’s important we continually improve the quality of the football played here.

“The progress we’ve made in Europe is down to the solid foundations that were already in place here at the club. I hope the other clubs take a step forward in terms of medical staff, scouting and recruitment.”
