Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana reject West Ham’s approach

While West Ham United have recently matched AS Monaco’s €35M valuation for Youssouf Fofana (25), the French midfielder has refused the Premier League’s side approach and only wants to join AC Milan, reveals Fabrizio Romano.

Fofana’s saga is not over yet. While the French international has been allowed to leave the Principality club this summer and is gathering lots of interest, clubs were yet to match Monaco’s €35M valuation, as revealed exclusively by Get French Football News. If West Ham have pushed forward to seal the deal  and tried to convince Fofana, the 25-year-old midfielder has rejected the deal and is waiting for AC Milan to send a new proposal to Monaco. While the Premier League sent a €35M bid to Monaco, matching the club’s valuation for the talented midfielder, Milan’s offer was reportedly worth only €17M, thus being rejected by the Principality club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fofana’s desire to join Milan is clear, and the French international has agreed on personal terms with the Lombardy side last week. West Ham is now reportedly out of the race as Fofana wants to play in the UEFA Champions League next season and will set their sights on another profile. Get French Football News understands that Monaco are waiting for Milan to improve their €17M offer and get closer to their €35M valuation.
