Soungoutou Magassa (20), a defensive midfielder by trade, began the season as a starter on the left of AS Monaco’s three-man defence. Whilst the France U21 international’s game time has tailed off in recent weeks, he is still attracting interest from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, according to Foot Mercato.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Get French Football News earlier this season, Magassa said that he was happy at Monaco when questioned about a future move away from the Principality. “I am already playing at a very big club in the form of Monaco, in a good league as well,” said Magassa, who expressed confidence at reaching “the highest level.”
However, Monaco are used to selling their bright academy products, often for lucrative fees, and Magassa could become the latest, according to Foot Mercato. The French publication has stated that Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are ready to fight to obtain the Frenchman’s services. There is plenty to admire in the versatile Bleuet, however, if he is to depart the Principality club, it will come at a price.
