Monaco’s Aleksandr Golovin garnering Premier League interest | OneFootball

Freed from the injuries that plagued his first years at AS Monaco, Aleksandr Golovin (27) has been a consistent performer for the past two seasons. His performances have now garnered the interest of Premier League clubs, according to L’Équipe.

Described as “one of the top players in Ligue 1″ by his manager Adi Hütter earlier this season, Golovin has continued to be one of the stand-out performers for Les Monégasques. In 22 games in all competitions, the Russian international has six goals and four assists.

Having finally established himself as a key figure at the Principality club, Golovin signed a contract extension last year, tying him to the club until 2026. “I extended [my contract] because I am happy here. I have no doubt about that,” reacted the Russian last year. However, L’Équipe report that a departure cannot be ruled out at the end of the season.

Monaco are currently third in Ligue 1 and whilst a qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League could tempt the former CSKA Moscow playmaker to continue his adventure at the Principality club, Premier League sides are attentive to his situation and advances could be made in the summer. The player’s agent has previously cited significant Premier League interest in his client.
