AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter has said that he is hoping that Youssouf Fofana (24) will make a swift return after missing the match against Montpellier HSC on Sunday.

Fofana hasn’t featured for Monaco since the 0-0 draw against Le Havre AC on 5th November. The Principality club played Paris Saint-Germain upon the return from the international break, however, the Frenchman was suspended. He was set to return to the starting lineup against Montpellier on Sunday, and he would have done so, however, he missed out on the squad through illness.

His absence is not expected to be a prolonged one, as Hütter told Get French Football News in the post-match press conference. “Youssouf is one of our top players, well done for Mo’s performance. He was sick last night. I hope he will be back in the training session on Monday,” said the Austrian manager. The France international will therefore expected to be fit and healthy to face Stade Rennais next Saturday.
