Repubblica via RMC Sport report today that Monaco are closing in on the signing of Italian striker Andrea Belotti, who has just left Torino after a seven-year spell with the Piedmont side.

A three-year contract worth €3.5m is said to be on the table for the 28-year-old, who has scored 12 goals in 44 appearances for his country.

Belotti is now expected to accept the offer from the Principality side, and will become their second signing of the summer after Takumi Minamino’s arrival from Liverpool in a deal worth an initial €15m to be paid in five instalments.

The Azzurri forward scored a total of 113 goals in 251 appearances for the Granata side, becoming captain of the club in that time, having joined from Palermo in 2015.

This season had seen him struggle with multiple injuries as he only managed eight goals in 22 appearances. Last summer, he was a part of Italy’s Euro 2020-winning squad and came on in the final. He had already been linked to Monaco in the past, with rumours emerging in 2017 over a potential move before a €100m price tag was given to him by Torino president Urbano Cairo.
