As per a report by Le Parisien, AS Monaco have reached an agreement with Toulouse FC for Christian Mawissa (19). The exact details of the offer have not yet been leaked to the French outlet but they write that the versatile defender will be offered a five-year contract.
Monaco had been keen to complete this transfer despite the versatile defender having made less than 20 appearances in Ligue 1 during his short professional career. Regardless of his limited minutes, his potential has been clear and the Principality are said to be completely convinced by Mawissa.
It was previously reported that Monaco had approached Toulouse with an opening offer of around €10 million, which was said to have then increased during negotiations for the teenager to between €15-20 million.
It’s not expected that Monaco will have many issues convincing Mawissa to join their project. Foot Mercato have previously written that the defender had given the Principality the green light to pursue the transfer and had agreed personal terms with the Champions League side.
