The Egyptian FA have confirmed that Mohamed Salah has tested positive for coronavirus.
Salah was involved with the national side for their upcoming AFCON qualification matches against Togo, on November 14 and 17 respectively.
But after squad members were made to undergo mandatory testing, Salah was revealed to have contracted COVID-19.
“The medical swab conducted on our first national football team showed that Mohamed Salah, star of Liverpool Football Club, was infected with COVID-19,” read an official statement.
“Despite his test returning positive, he does not suffer from any symptoms. The other members of the team were negative.”
Salah becomes the fifth Liverpool player to test positive for coronavirus, after Thiago Alcântara, Xherdan Shaqiri, Sadio Mané and Naby Keita.
