The Egyptian superstar has signed a new three-year deal at Liverpool, one worth around £400,000-a-week.

It’s an enormous amount of money, however, in the modern world a player of Salah’s ilk is befitting the sizeable outlay.

Liverpool were kind of backed into a corner with regards to Salah’s contract negotiations after Sadio Mane‘s recent move to Bayern Munich.

While the Reds probably didn’t want to break their wage structure, those in power knew that they could not afford to lose both players in a short space of time.

So, Liverpool fans can rest easy for a while now that Salah has extended his stay at Anfield.

For months, it really did look as if the forward would leave while in his prime and many fans were understandably resigned to that outcome.

But one man who was confident Salah would stay at Liverpool is his teammate Harvey Elliott.

During the team’s parade at the end of the 2021/22 season, the teenage midfielder teased the contract extension with some cheeky hand gestures when the cameras zoomed in on him and Salah together.

“He’s been a great asset to this club, he’s got us to so many finals by scoring winning goals, important goals.

“He’s a great person to learn off and I’ve tried to get really close to him for the small details so I can be up there with him one day.

“‘He’s a great player and very willing to help me out if it’s needed, to be able to share the right wing with him and Trent as well is two players I’ve dreamed of playing with.”

With Salah staying and Darwin Nunez signing from Benfica, Liverpool’s future looks incredibly bright – even without Mane.
