Mohamed Salah has signed a new Liverpool contract, ending speculation that he could leave the club next summer.
Salah’s previous deal expired in 12 months, with reports last month suggesting he could be open to a move to another Premier League club for free next summer.
The new contract reportedly keeps him at Anfield until 2025.
Now, though, he has signed a new long-term deal to remain at Anfield, reportedly keeping him at the club until 2025.
“I feel great and excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone,” he told the club’s website. “It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.
“I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards]. Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies.
“I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”
Salah has scored an incredible 156 goals in 254 appearances for the club since joining from Roma 2017, winning three Premier League Golden Boots. Liverpool have won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield in that time.
