Mohamed Salah has confirmed that he will not be leaving Liverpool this summer.
Salah has just one season remaining on his contract at Anfield and with player and club so far being unable to agree an extension, speculation has been rife that the Egyptian could be on the move this summer.
But on Wednesday the Reds held an open training session ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final with Real Madrid, after which Salah confirmed to reporters that he will remain on Merseyside “for sure” next season.
With Sadio Mané’s future also up in the air, the news Salah is staying will come as a relief to manager Jürgen Klopp and the club’s fans.
Now it remains to be seen whether an extension to the 29-year-old’s contract, which expires in June 2023, can be agreed.
