Liverpool will have Mohamed Salah for their games against Arsenal and Manchester City after the forward avoided a ban for simulation.
Salah won a penalty against Newcastle on Boxing Day, then converted from the spot to score Liverpool’s second goal in a 4-0 win.
“In my opinion if we are going to rid this disease of simulation, Salah has to face retrospective action and receive a two-match ban,” former Premier League referee Mark Halsey said on Wednesday.
Under FA laws, players can be suspended for “Successful Deception of a Match Official”.
However, the FA have decided not to take action.
Contact made on Salah from Paul Dummett meant the situation didn’t meet the “threshold” for a suspension.
