Arsenal have confirmed that midfielder Mohamed Elneny has penned an extension at the club to keep him at the Emirates Stadium.
The Egyptian’s previous deal was set to expire next month, allowing him to depart north London on a free.
But the club have now announced that he has inked a new deal to keep him at the club.
Although no contract length was given, James Olley reports that Elneny has signed a one-year contract, with a club option for a further 12 months.
“I love this club and I feel like part of this family,” he told Arsenal Media. “I want to continue at this amazing club and amazing family and I’m very happy and very excited for the future.”
Elneny has been at Arsenal since 2016 when he arrived from Basel and has gone on to make 147 appearances, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists during that time.
