MOCA, Dominican Republic – Moca FC won 2-1 against Grenades FC in Group B in the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup on Tuesday at Estadio Moca 85 at Moca, Dominican Republic.

Clifford Thomas had one of the best looks of the first half from a free kick in the 34' but his shot hit the woodwork.

Following a scoreless first half, Kamol Griffith broke the deadlock in the 50' by connecting in front of goal on a cross from Malcolm Stewart.

Gustavo Ascona tied the match in the 53' with a header inside the box off a free kick service from Clifford Thomas.

Guillermo de Peña completed the comeback for Moca in the 61' from another free kick opportunity. Eduardo Montenegro was the man that initiated the set piece before José Francisco redirected the ball across goal.

The Dominican Republic side were down to ten men in the 76' due to a double yellow card to Carlos Rossell.

Moca captain Miguel Báez extended his left hand for a crucial save in the 80’ to block Keanu Barrett from long distance and preserve the one goal lead.

Moca FC finished second place in Group B with a 3-1-0 record. The Dominican Republic side will face the winner of Group A in the semifinals.

Grenades FC finished fourth in the group with a 0-2-2 record.
