Liverpool look unstoppable at the moment and Mohamed Salah has been a huge part of the Reds’ early season success.
Arne Slot has got his side ready to compete at the highest level and Liverpool currently sit top of both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Salah has been in red-hot form from the word ‘go’ this campaign, already boasting 10 goals and 10 assists from his first 17 games.
There is however something overshadowing Salah’s brilliant start to the season, the fact that it could very well be his last in a Liverpool shirt.
Salah, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is out of contract in June and, as things stand, will leave Anfield for free in the summer.
This international break Salah was made exempt from international duty, giving the forward some time to rest and recover in the middle of the season.
Salah took the opportunity to attend the Sharjah International Book Fair, where he was a guest speaker on the final day of the festival.
Salah revealed just how important reading was to him during his lecture at the festival, crediting his passion for reading as one of the reasons behind his successful football career.
The forward has since returned to Liverpool’s AXA Training Ground looking refreshed and ready for the tough run ahead, but he revealed some of his future plans whilst at the Sharjah International Book Fair.
After returning from the festival, Salah made a post on his social media accounts that revealed a key part of his plans after this season.
“Everyone has time before bed to read. Read as much as you can, and benefit from that information because it will help you greatly in your life.” Salah said, via Nogoum FM.
“I don't see now as the right time to release a book, but I will definitely write one someday.”
Salah’s plans to author a book offer even more insight into what motivates the Egyptian, who cares just as much about his mental wellbeing as his physical condition.
Liverpool supporters will remain hopeful that Salah will sign an extension and have many more years of success to write about when he does decide the time is right to release a book, but only time will tell where the Egyptian’s future will take him.
