Ragnar Klavan has revealed that Mohamed Salah and Alisson were hugely influential in his decision to join Cagliari.
Klavan left Anfield for the Serie A side on Friday in a deal worth €3.5m having made 53 appearances for the Reds since joining from Augsburg in 2016.
The Estonian was in talks with several clubs this summer but chose Italy as his next destination, and he has explained why.
“I had offers from several teams, including in other countries, but Cagliari really wanted me,” the 32-year-old told Sky Italia.
“Darijo Srna advised me to come here, as I talked to him via Dejan Lovren.
“I’m certain we’ll do great things here and I am really fired up. The city is wonderful and so are the fans, I can’t wait to get started.”
Salah spent time at both Fiorentina and Roma before leaving to join Liverpool last year, while Alisson moved to Merseyside from the Giallorossi earlier this summer.
And after leaving Liverpool last summer, Brazilian midfielder Lucas has enjoyed something of a career renaissance at Lazio.
