Some good news has filtered regarding the injury sustained by Zlatan Ibrahimovic that forced him to come off during the 0-0 draw with Juventus last night.

There was some worry when Olivier Giroud took his jacket off and lined up to come on as Ibrahimovic was in possession, but the ball was then kicked out and it became clear that the Ibra had suffered an injury, with instant panic that it was an Achilles problem that could result in a long-term absence.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews, there are no MRI scans planned for Zlatan Ibrahimovic today, and instead the Swedish striker will be evaluated upon the resumption of training at Milanello and during the days that lead up to the derby against Inter.

The 40-year-old did indeed come off due to a pain in the Achilles tendon of his right leg – blaming the hard pitch as Stefano Pioli revealed after the game – but it was not acute, meaning there was no swelling of the tendon to suggest tendonitis.
