The negotiation between AC Milan and Marco Sportiello continues and is moving quickly towards a conclusion, according to a report.

MilanNews echoes the news from other sources in claiming that the Atalanta goalkeeper – whose deal with the Bergamo club will expire next June – has been chosen by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara as the new deputy to Mike Maignan.

They have made the choice knowing that Ciprian Tatarusanu’s contract is also expiring next June and he will not be renewed, so will therefore depart and leave a gap in terms of being the back-up goalkeeper.

Only a few details are missing before a full agreement is reached with Sportiello, but everything is now set for what will be the first signing of the 2023-24 season. The 30-year-old has already worked with Stefano Pioli at Fiorentina, and he received endorsement from the Milan goalkeeping staff, who gave their positive opinion on the choice.
