Juventus travel to San Siro this weekend, and given the context of the season so far, AC Milan must win.

On too many occasions this season, Milan have fallen below the high standards set by themselves. Of course, the wins against Inter and Real Madrid offer some assurances about the levels which can be shown. However, these are outnumbered.

Losing to Napoli effectively put them out of the Scudetto race, at least if things continue as they have been so far, then the losses to Parma and Fiorentina offer nothing but negativity. Therefore, there are no games left for excuses.

As Milan News write, the game against Juventus does not have a ‘way out’ for anyone and the ‘season is at stake’ come Saturday evening. A game which could be worth much more than three points, considering the gap between the two sides currently.

The report continues, suggesting that a win could lessen the worry after the draw against Cagliari, and perhaps even boost Fonseca’s side back into the Scudetto race, albeit still in a disadvantaged position.

A loss could extend the gap between Paulo Fonseca’s side and the league leaders to 11 points, an unfathomable distance to recover. However, the Portuguese head coach has proven he can perform under pressure, something which will be needed again now.
