AC Milan defender Sergino Dest broke an impressive record when he assisted the USA’s winning goal against Iran in their final group game of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri loanee became the youngest defender to register an assist at the 2022 World Cup so far.

The USA needed to beat Iran in the final group game if they were to get into the round of 16 in the tournament and they managed to do that with a 1-0 victory which was extremely tense at the end.

The goal came when Juventus’ Weston McKennie floated the ball out wide to Dest who headed it back across goal for Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic to tap in and give the USA the lead.

Dest recently turned 22 years old and he is on loan at Milan from Barcelona, a club that he does not seem destined to play for again.
