AC Milan are awaiting the verdict from UEFA over their Financial Fair Play situation and there is optimism about their judgement, a report claims.

MilanNews reports that UEFA have had meetings with many European clubs to talk about their financial situation and Milan are one of them. Over the past three years under Elliott Management, the feeling is that Rossoneri have embarked on a path which is the correct one as per the Settlement Agreement signed after the hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in 2019.

The improvements in the accounts have been clear even after a year and a half of limited revenues due to the pandemic, and this did not go unnoticed by UEFA. Until they have made their ruling though there will not be a big step in expenses, especially given the new FFP regulation coming in over the next three season provides for a margin-based expenditure on revenues.

Milan feel they have respected the agreement with UEFA and are hoping for a lighter settlement agreement, with limited sanctions that do not affect the operations on the mercato or a reduction in the squad size they are able to register in European competitions.
